The Bibi-Ka-Maqbara is a beautiful mausoleum of Rabia-ul-Daurani alias Dilras Banu
Begum, the wife of the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb (1658-1707 A.D.). This mausoleum is
believed to be constructed by Prince Azam Shah in memory of his mother during 1651 to
1661 A.D.
Bibi Ka Maqbara is a beautiful piece of work, but it pales in comparison
to its famous forbearer. While the monument in Agra is made entirely out of pure white
marble, the mausoleum in Aurangabad is encased with marble only up to the dado level.
Situated about 3 km from the city is Bibi Ka Maqbara, the burial place of
Aurangzeb's wife, Rabia-ud-Durrani. It is an imitation of the Taj at Agra, and, due to
its similar design, it is popularly known as the Mini Taj of the Deccan.
One of the most famous monuments in Aurangabad. The monument is dedicated to Dilras Banu Begum who was the 1st wife of Aurangzeb. It is almost an exact replica of Taj Mahal.
It is a very lovely place in aurangabad , since i had not seen tajmahal, i was very much delighted to see it.
